Pete & Jess's flat....I don't think pictures of laundry, even clean are that great.

We started out the day working on the blogs, doing laundry, unpacking and picking up from vacation. It is quite hard to get caught up once behind.
Neil and Pete picked up the car from the car club that Pete and Jess have joined so that Chase could be retrieved from the kennel where she has been vacationing. They got to use a BMW again. We also had a BMW to take her out….my first ride in a BMW-- nice car.
We worked for several hours and then headed out to do errands. But before errands, some lunch. We went to Chippy doon the lane again for their Haddock--what a great lunch. Then errands as we needed to go walking to counteract all the fish we had consumed. We needed an additional drying rack and a new watch for me…a week without a watch is enough. We went to Argos to find those necessary things.
We stopped at a camera store along the way and talked to a gentleman about the camera. His news was not good. It seems the camera will need to be repaired; apparently, it’s a common problem brought about by clumsy people dropping them. The gear has slipped or broken a tooth. The really bad news is that if we continue to use it, it could do further damage like killing the motor. Shoot. He also directed us to a computer store where we could buy a portable hard drive to save us from buying more thumb drives to back-up our picture files. The salesman there seconded Pete's reccomendation, and so we bought one. This little thing, smaller than a DVD case, actually has more memory available than does the notebook computer--I know it doesn't have programs on it but still it is amazing. Then we walked to Argos to get a new Timex for Nancy and the second drying rack for the mountain of laundry back at the flat. We found a Canon camera that was cheap--to take wear and tear off the expensive broken one. Imagine our surprise when it was on special a further 20 pounds off--such a deal.
It also rained on us while we were out….nothing new
We also went grocery shopping. Pete works Tuesday through Thursday evenings and Friday during the day, so we did some adjusting with the menus.
We continued to work on the blogs and laundry.
A pretty unvacation like day, but necessary.
Steps: 17,954 We walked a long ways

Sorry to hear about your camera, but glad that you found a replacement for the remainder of your trip.
ReplyDeleteWe are finally getting back to checking out the Russell Chronicles (in between wedding stuff, of course--yikes!). What an excellent adventure!!! Love your blog and photos...it is almost like being there with you...but that won't beat seeing you in person and hearing all about it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sara....breaking the camera was a bummer.
ReplyDeleteDave and Connie -- I think you should have been doing a blog about getting ready for 3 weddings in two years. That is an adventure in and of itself.
